6.5 is
Ultimates Season
We're running a contest to help people clear ultimates.
Starting at patch 6.5 and ending 2 weeks before the official release of Dawntrail.
Rules
1. You get a point for every person in your party that gets the clear achievement for the first time; alts don't count.
2. Each ultimate has its own score because TOP and UWU are vastly different in terms of difficulty.
3. Total number of clears across all ultimates is its own score.
4. First time Legend clears. Helping people to make the leap from savage to ultimate is a special achievement that will be scored separately.
5. Scoring is done both individually and as a group.
6. Tackling an ultimate without any veteran help is a special accomplishment that we'd like to incentivize/reward people for as well, so we are including an art raffle for all full groups of 8 first time clearers. For record keeping purposes, we need full names and servers for people, and for flavor clear screenshots and clear clips are encouraged! The google form is above for submissions to keep things clean; if it doesn't come through the google form, it won't be counted. Some of these are hard metrics to track down, but we'll do the best we can with an honor system, webscraping, and help from the community.I'm getting some actual physical trophies made (some combination of trophies, medals, and 3d printed totems), and my expectation is that some of the larger groups and discords will win out, but I want to encourage people who want to level up and step up from savage to go out and attempt ultimates.Additional prizing below.

tl;dr helping people is great
Mid Eden’s Verse, after disbanding a raid group that didn’t mesh together anymore, I spent a long period of time paralyzed by imposter syndrome – “I couldn’t keep it together, am I really good enough to keep doing what I enjoy?” During this time, my wife dipped her toes into PF for the first time and found a 6/8 fresh UCoB group that was composed of one veteran and 5 players fresh to the fight. With her joining, they just needed a tank, and at first I struggled to accept the offer because the first time we attempted an ultimate (at the end of Stormlood), we barely got to Titan in UWU, and when we attempted TEA on release we only made it to second Nisi pass. That said, despite my imposter syndrome I joined the group and after about 60 hours of prog time, we cleared and the Ultimate Fever began! The hard lesson I learned is that ultimates require commitment and studying, and it helps greatly to have someone along who can teach you the nuances of the fight.Later that year, my wife and I grabbed 6 friends of ours and taught them UWU from the beginning while stressing all the things we learned from running with an ultimate specific group. While clearing for myself initially felt good, helping others was far more exciting.
Fast forward to Shadowbringers and the discord we first created to run this UWU group started evolving – we found more people who are interested in pushing themselves to clear their first ultimate, complete more ultimates, or trying to help people get more ultimate clears (and more totems for themselves). Additionally, this was when Party Finder for ultimates started becoming very real. Notable mention to the Ultimate Primal Raiding (UPR) regulars that have helped hundreds of people get across the finish line. During the Shadowbringers content drought, I had jokingly kept a scoreboard between my wife and I for how many people we had helped clear for each ultimate – some of which from Party Finder, some of which from groups we each ran separately, and some of which we did together. We helped a lot of people, but truly the fun part was the helping. This is for the people who want to help.
Celebrate others' success!
There's really something special about people getting emotional about working hard toward a clear and getting it after dozens of hours of effort.Whether it be a clear for 8 or a clear for 1, your very first ultimate or finishing quintuple legend, let's celebrate the work people put into it!Also potential headphone warning for any of the following clips.
